The Lexicon · jungle terms in plain words

Speak jungle.

Every term below is defined the way the books use it. No wiki-speak. When a word deserves a whole volume, the link takes you there, free.

Map stateDeeper: Tilt Proof
The full set of facts on the board right now: who is where, who is ahead, what is warded. The thing you read on your minimap and camera.
TempoDeeper: The Tempo Jungler
Time. Being able to do something, generally after a full clear, such as gank or take an objective. The true currency of jungle.
The Tempo TrapDeeper: The Tempo Jungler
What happens when you spend your time looking for a play instead of making one. Hovering, shadowing teammates, waiting in bushes. None of it feels like a mistake. It all feels like potential. If you cannot name the play you are executing right now, you are in it. Reset.
Lane priority (prio)Deeper: Start Disciplined
Your lanes pushed toward the enemy, so your side can move first. The condition that makes objectives takeable.
PathingDeeper: Learning the Jungle
The route you take through the jungle: which camps in which order, and where it leaves you on the map after the route ends.
Full clearDeeper: Start Disciplined
All your camps, in sequence, before you look for anything else. Not just economy: it keeps you on pace with every other player in the game.
Weak-sidingDeeper: The Shotcaller
Giving a lane little or no help on purpose so you can spend your attention elsewhere. Letting a lane lose quietly.
GankDeeper: Learning the Jungle
Coming to a lane to help kill or pressure the enemy.
Counter-gankDeeper: The Perceptive Jungler
Showing up to punish an enemy gank in progress and turn their play against them.
Objective controlDeeper: The Sovereign Jungler
Taking or contesting the neutral objectives: Dragons, Baron, Voidgrubs, Rift Herald.
Dragon SoulDeeper: The Sovereign Jungler
The permanent buff a team earns from taking four Dragons. A stacking, game-defining lead.
Voidgrubs (Grubs)Deeper: The Sovereign Jungler
Early neutral monsters that grant pushing power. Dragon, then Void Grubs, is a common early plan.
BountyDeeper: The Calculated Jungler
Bonus gold placed on a player whose team is ahead or has a gold lead. Often bait to fight.
TiltDeeper: Tilt Proof
Any emotional state, anger, urgency, or despair, that lowers how well you play. Attention spent on things that do not move the game toward a win, paid for in worse reads, slower rotations, and lost LP.
Inting / Running it downDeeper: Tilt Proof
Dying on purpose or playing to lose. From intentional feeding.
Reverse thinkingDeeper: Tilt Proof
Instead of asking what play wins, ask what play would throw the game. Then just don't do that.
LPDeeper: Tilt Proof
League Points, the number that tracks your rank. The only scoreboard that follows you between games.
Mind-controlling yourselfDeeper: Tilt Proof
Talking yourself into a false story, usually a predicted loss, and then playing to make it true. Stop doing this.
