Briar Scaling: Grade C

CBad lateat full build, coordinated fights

No, not reliably. Briar falls off in coordinated late-game fights. Grade C, Bad late, in The Scaling Codex.

Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).

Verdict. Outscaled and kited very easily. Good Briars can drag out their advantage a bit longer.

Why Briar falls off

The frenzy trades control for damage and healing. Mid game that pays, because targets are close and soft. Late it marches her in a straight line at players who are faster, longer, and holding crowd control for exactly this.

Her healing only works while she is hitting something, and full-build teams decide whether she gets to hit anything. Every slowed or knocked-back step of a chase is damage taken with nothing dealt back.

A skilled Briar delays the wall rather than removing it

Once five people group with peel, self-inflicted berserk into a protected target just picks the moment she dies.

The rule

Send the ultimate at a mistake, not at a formation. If the landing zone has four teammates in it, hold it.

How this grade was judged

The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

Related champions

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches.
