Akali Scaling: Grade D
No. Akali gets noticeably worse as the game goes long. Grade D, Very bad late, in The Scaling Codex.
Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).
Verdict. Very hard to play out late. Lacks CC and target selection and is also very squishy with most meta builds being full AP.
Akali only sells one thing
She sells one product, and by full build it is the hardest one on the map to deliver. Her burst only exists inside the enemy team, and her dashes commit toward whoever is standing in front of her. Late formations decide who that is, and it is never the carry.
She brings nothing else. No crowd control to trade, no peel, and nothing to fall back on when the kill is not there. The shroud is seconds of confusion rather than immunity, and on a full AP frame the first clean answer ends her turn.
Six items do not fix it
More damage on the burst does not add a stun, a second job, or a say in which target her mobility reaches.
If the target you can actually reach is not the target that matters, keep the life.

How this grade was judged
The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches. How the grades are decided.
