Akshan Scaling: Grade B
Reasonably well, with conditions. Akshan keeps real value at full build. Grade B, Okay late, in The Scaling Codex.
Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).
Verdict. Struggles late due to short range and a conditional revive mechanic that becomes harder to use as the enemy team groups up.
What he brings that other marksmen do not
Angles and resurrection. The grappling hook turns terrain into attack paths, camouflage lets him choose where the fight finds him, and killing the marked scoundrel brings dead teammates back. Landing that late buys back a fight the death timers said his team could not take.
The conditions get expensive at full build
Reviving allies means executing one specific player, and late-game teams stand that player in the middle of four friends. The swing needs a wall, and his effective range asks him to be closer than a squishy marksman should be.
Against a team that holds formation, the scoundrel is unreachable and the hook angles are covered.
Hunt the scoundrel when the scoundrel is alone. A revive attempt into five grouped players just adds your body to the pile.

How this grade was judged
The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches. How the grades are decided.
