Lucian Scaling: Grade C

CBad lateat full build, coordinated fights

No, not reliably. Lucian falls off in coordinated late-game fights. Grade C, Bad late, in The Scaling Codex.

Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).

Verdict. Ultimate loses impact. Short range as well.

Why Lucian falls off

He is a mid-game tempo engine. Dashes, double taps, resets that delete a carry before help arrives. At full build the same burst window takes a health bar to half instead of to zero, and the game stops rewarding windows that do not finish anyone.

The Culling ages worst. A channeled line of damage asks the enemy to stand in a corridor, and six-item teams either walk out of it or tank it while collapsing on a short-range carry rooted to the channel.

His reach forces the wrong fight

He takes duel-range risk for poke-range results, and the dash that made that acceptable mid game is also the only thing keeping him alive.

The rule

The dash is for dodging the spell that kills you, not for getting closer.

How this grade was judged

The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

Related champions

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches.
