Master Yi Scaling: Grade A

AGreat lateat full build, coordinated fights

Yes. Master Yi scales well into the late game. Grade A, Great late, in The Scaling Codex.

Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).

Verdict. Can delete entire teams solo when building correctly. His ultimate damage steroid scales quite well.

Why Master Yi gets an A

At full build he has enough damage to remove a team rather than one target. Highlander turns every takedown into more access, Alpha Strike can dodge the button meant to stop him, and each disappearance makes the rest of the fight easier.

That is real scaling. The first kill is more than gold. It changes the speed and shape of everything after it.

He does not go first

The enemy knows exactly what matters. They hold crowd control for him, protect the first target, and make him cross the dangerous part of the fight before a reset exists. Full build does not make that first entry free. It makes wasting it more expensive.

The rule

Let somebody else buy the first cooldowns. Enter after the fight has already become unfair.

How this grade was judged

The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

Related champions

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches.
