The Scaling Codex · late-game grade

Aurora Scaling: Grade A

AGreat lateat full build, coordinated fights

Yes. Aurora scales well into the late game. Grade A, Great late, in The Scaling Codex.

Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).

Verdict. Game-changing ultimate damage, strong in endgame fights.

Why Aurora gets an A

Her ultimate creates the window where her damage decides the fight, at the stage where single fights decide games. The zone itself is not the payoff. The payoff is a full rotation cast inside it with her passive stacking through the whole thing.

Most large cooldowns get answered by full-build defensive items. Her damage still moves the health bars that matter, so every objective standoff starts with the enemy wondering where the ultimate is going to land. That question alone spreads their formation.

The ultimate only decides the fights it catches

It needs a grouped, committed enemy team. Cast into a poke war or thrown at one chasing tank, it does very little, and death timers at this stage make a wasted cast expensive.

The rule

Do not spend the ultimate on the first target you see. Spend it on the moment they cannot cancel.

How this grade was judged

The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

Related champions

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches.
