Mordekaiser Scaling: Grade C

CBad lateat full build, coordinated fights

No, not reliably. Mordekaiser falls off in coordinated late-game fights. Grade C, Bad late, in The Scaling Codex.

Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).

Verdict. Same issue as Malzahar, very tough to beat enemies with QSS.

Why Mordekaiser falls off

Realm of Death is the loudest ultimate in the game and by the endgame it is the most prepared for. The carry it was designed to isolate walks out of the fountain with a spell shield, and the shield does not shorten the realm, it refuses the cast entirely.

Even when the door does open, a full-build carry with a dash and peel can kite him inside his own realm until the timer hands them back untouched.

Outside the ultimate he is a slow juggernaut

He asks full-build teams for contact they never grant, and his sustained damage only matters on targets he can reach.

The best remaining cast is often the unglamorous one. The duel he actually gets to keep is against whoever skipped the spell shield, and that player is usually not the carry the ultimate was dreamed up for.

The rule

If the carry bought the veil, take the tank instead. Deleting their front line is a realm you get to finish.

How this grade was judged

The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

Related champions

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches.
