Zac Scaling: Grade C
No, not reliably. Zac falls off in coordinated late-game fights. Grade C, Bad late, in The Scaling Codex.
Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).
Verdict. Does not scale well. Grouped near Amumu and his engage options are too slow and awkward.
Why Zac falls off
His signature engage spends seconds charging in place before it travels, and the late game is the era of nobody missing that. Warded quadrants and grouped vision broadcast the wind-up, and five full-build players answer a broadcast engage by taking four steps out of the landing zone.
Even a landed engage underdelivers now. The bounces and knockups are real crowd control, but the follow-up damage was never his, and full-build carries survive being inconvenienced.
The charge is only slow where it is seen
Launched from fog, over a wall, or from the one quadrant the enemy did not pay to watch, it lands as a surprise on people an objective forced to stand still.
A Zac they can see is a warning, not an engage. Charge only from ground they have not paid to watch.

How this grade was judged
The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches. How the grades are decided.
