Gragas Scaling: Grade B

BOkay lateat full build, coordinated fights

Reasonably well, with conditions. Gragas keeps real value at full build. Grade B, Okay late, in The Scaling Codex. The grade belongs to one specific build, described below.

Reviewed for League of Legends Season 16 (2026).

Verdict. Decent late game with full AP build, but very flash-dependent. Countered by Banshee's Veil and range.

The job he keeps

The pick. Flash into Body Slam is still one of the fastest ways in the game to turn a positioning error into a kill, and Explosive Cask can rearrange a five versus five by splitting a front line from its backline.

The damage holds up well enough to make the pick lethal rather than symbolic.

The delivery system does not hold up

Without Flash, the slam is a telegraphed waddle that late-game players sidestep on reaction. One spell shield on the carry and the combo fizzles at first contact, and against long-range compositions he spends the fight outside his own effective range.

The cask cuts both ways too. A panicked cast throws enemies to safety instead of toward his team.

The rule

Your Flash timer decides which fights you can take. Down, you are a zoning tool, and you should play like one until it returns.

How this grade was judged

The grade weighs range, target access, sustained and burst damage, crowd control, mobility, durability, healing and shielding, resets, cooldown structure, objective and formation control, split pressure, and how well the champion survives a long fight. Builds and forms that scale differently are graded separately. This is Vambient's gameplay evaluation of coordinated late-game fights, not a win-rate calculation. Full methodology.

Related champions

The grade measures one thing: how much a champion can influence a coordinated late-game objective fight once both teams reach full builds. It does not measure early strength, snowballing, or win rate. A weak late-game champion still wins by ending the game first, which is what the rest of the library teaches.
